STANDING COMMITTEES

Polly Bond Awards Committee

This committee uplifts and celebrates excellence across our membership and hosts the annual Polly Bond Awards Dinner. We meet for one hour per month on Zoom and assign independent, self-paced work to accomplish our responsibilities: manage the award-submissions portal (Judgify), identify and prepare judges, review and organize all work submissions, ensure our community receives constructive feedback, and manage the awards and program for the Awards Ceremony. This committee is best for detail-oriented folks who like clear tasks, agendas, and deadlines!

Site Selection and Conference Planning Committee

The Site Selection and Conference Planning Committee research sites for the annual conference and plans the workshops and presenters for each conference. Committee members meet monthly via Zoom to create the best conference experience for attendees.

Nominating Committee

The Board Nominating Committee helps find and vet ideal candidates for the board as well as keeping the nominating process running smoothly. It is preferred that members of this committee be former board members or committee members.

Professional Standards Committee

This committee helps members understand and adhere to industry standards and best practices from an operational and human resources point-of-view. We generally meet monthly on Zoom on specific projects to elevate communicators and advocate for the resources to do the work they do. If you enjoy connecting on LinkedIn or are not shy identifying what you need as a communicator, consider joining our committee.

Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development and Virtual Conference Committee organizes and plans resource-based and partnership webinars, manages the EC Resource Library, monthly EC Talk-Live sessions, affinity groups, and plans and executes the virtual conference. Members of this committee are interested in providing the organization with ongoing resources and support throughout the year and hold a variety of skills since this committee covers so much. We meet twice a month on Zoom.

Membership Committee

The membership committee works to build community and relationship among current members, as well as to expand Episcopal Communicators’ reach, in efforts to grow our organization. During the in-person conference, the membership committee hosts social and team-building programming to create a welcoming, inclusive and connecting environment. We meet once a month, on Zoom.

Education Certificate Committee

Serving on the Education Certificate Committee for Episcopal Communicators would involve shaping the vision, structure, and content of a new certificate program for church communicators. Members would help develop curriculum, identify and recruit presenters, and ensure the program is both theologically grounded and practically useful for a range of ministry contexts. It’s an opportunity to contribute to the professional formation of communicators across the Church while helping define a key initiative for the organization’s future.
